                                          Your first Three  months
                                        (What you need to know)

Many individuals who begin Wing Chun drop out within the first three months. They
discover that the work, effort and commitment required is to high of a price to pay. Things
that were new soon become routine, familiar. This is when self discipline and focus is
needed to keep on mark.
Wing Chun training requires simultaneous attention to numerous things in one class. We
expect students to have a strong foundation of how, why and when this in turn develops the
Be, Know, Do mentality. This approach frustrates most students looking for the instant
black belt, sash, certificate or a quick rank promotion. We teach a
fast paced, definite
training program from the basics to more advanced work. As with any other endeavor,
without strong basics, you will have difficulty understanding and doing the more
sophisticated parts of the system
i.e.The applied learning class. Your advancement in the
system is not judged by how much you know, but more of your commitment,
trustworthiness, and dedication; these cannot be measured by a belt, sash, or certificate
but only the standards you set for yourself.
As a new student your attention will be focused on structure and mechanics to introduce
the proper feeling in the neuromuscular pathways. You will learn to move your body
correctly, without thinking about it, freeing the mind to focus on the situation at hand.
Along with repetitive practice, the movements and drills will help instill them into your
muscle memory, becoming second nature.

         Wing Chun Class Structure
The Wing Chun classes are safe, informative and
practical. Practitioners will be exposed to four
areas of training in each class.
Basic Development/ Self structure
(Understanding our own motion, position
in relation to our own body i.e centerline.)
Applied structure
(Bring to life what was learned in self
structure in relation to opponent)
Practical (putting it all together)
Development training starts with forms
and Individual drills to learn, coordination,
movements and techniques i.e First form
(Sil lum tao) shifting horse etc. This
portion of training helps the student in
progressing through the technical
understanding needed to progress in the
art. Every one starts at this level no matter
your martial or skilled background.
  • Sil Lum Tao
Drills are designed to teach a
functional skill and then become
progressively more challenging to the
practitioner through different types of
stresses and resistance. By focusing
on these drills, a student will develop
practical qualities that will increase
the effectiveness and efficiency of
their techniques and applications.
Training focuses on two man drills
(which is imperative to the
understanding of the art), application
as well as sticky hands (Chi Sao)
training .
  • Chum Kui
Combining the first two sections
Denver Wing Chun integrates conceptual
training as well as functional application,
Wing Chun can be tested passive as well as
aggressively. Specific tests such as attack
circle, Chi Sao, lop sao, and ranges of combat
are to test, adjust and refine the art,
understanding oneself and the
applications.
  • Biu Jee
       Wooden Man & Weapons.
(Further understanding and applying the various tools in the art)

Here we introduce the practitioner to the wooden man (Muk yan
jong), Luk Dim Boon Kwan (6.5 point pole) Forms and
applications.
Jeet Kune Do Concepts

Denver Wing Chun primarily trains students through Wing Chun,
although Jeet Kune Do (JKD) plays a great role in the
self-exploration phase of a practitioners development, we offer
this to students who have developed the Wing Chun
understanding of its theories & principles.
I teach Wing Chun Kung Fu as I was taught for the past 17+ yrs, following the lineage of Grand master Yip Man-> Duncan Leung->
and the late (..**...) and make no claims to Master Sifu titles.
I  will be your Sifu (teacher)  Instructor. Come and see for yourself how the Wing Chun system works.
To judge a martial art, test the logic and  principles in application.
